Who Ever Loved That Loved Not at First Sight?

It lies not in our power to love or hate,
For will in us is overruled by fate.

When two are stripped, long ere the course begin,
We wish that one should love, the other win;
And one especially do we affect
Of two gold ingots, like in each respect:

The reason no man knows; let it suffice
What we behold is censured by our eyes.
Where both deliberate, the love is slight:
Who ever loved, that loved not at first sight?

.....Christopher Marlowe

ps. How can a happy, innocent, musical baby know about the hardship of life and love?? :) So, he should not be born........

冷冷清清的水都格外的蒼涼;

走入一圈又一圈的派對;

The Royal Crecent : in the film "the Dutches"

The Royal Crescent is a residential road of 30 houses, where noble people lived in, laid out in a crescent, in the city of Bath, England. Designed by the architect John Wood the Younger and built between 1767 and 1774, it is among the greatest examples of Georgian architecture to be found in the United Kingdom and is a grade I listed building.

20 :Jane Austen ( 1775-1817) : A critic and a Feminist from 200 years ago

1 A Royal Crescent: in Bath
2The "cottage" : in Chawton where Jane Austen lived during the last eight years of her life, now Jane Austen's House Museum
Jane Austen (16 December 1775 – 18 July 1817) was an English novelist, whose realism, biting social commentary and use of free indirect speech have earned her a place as one of the most widely read and most beloved writers in English literature.

I was inpired by "Educating Alice" , of which the aruthor A. Steinbeck reaches out her curiosity in many fields, especially in travaling to England, the path of locating Jane Auten. Austen, a Sagittarius, does not seem so ancient to me as I suddenly dived into her year of birth, 1775, finding that the whole social climbing, male chauvinism, and feminist theory, have never changed much since her time.
Sense and Sensibility (1811)
Pride and Prejudice (1813)
Mansfield Park (1814)
Emma (1815)
Northanger Abbey (1817) (posthumous)
Persuasion (1817) (posthumous)

The Prophet 4: Kahlil Gibran

Kahlil Gibran :

I love you, whatever you are, wherever you are...whether you are praying in the temple or kneeling in a church...

1. Where he was born :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvjN2NK0NvA

2. He Speaks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHl9fmAr6pM&feature=related

Prophet 3 :

Prophet on love/marriage:
Let there be spaces in your togetherness;
And let the winds of the heaven dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love:

Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of our bread but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together.

On Love...: From the Prophet 2

Love: Like Sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himelf.
He threshes you to make you naked...
But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleaure.

Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness
and pass out of love' threshing-floor.
Into the seaonless world where you shall laugh,
but not all of your laughter, and weep , but not all of your tears...

Prophet

On Love...: From the Prophet

When love beckons to you, follow him
Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to him
Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in him.
Though his voice may shatter your dreams a the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you
Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.

Even as he ascends to your height and careses your tenderest branche that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth.
